Bedroom Blues.
Even though the living room sits quite unfinished and unattended to at the moment, my mind is racing and recently took a few leaps back to the master bedroom. Navy is my go-to. The color is classic, timeless, chic and pairs well with everything. I'm thinking I'm going to splash most of the bedroom in this hue and then sprinkle a bit of neutral throughout. At first glance my plan may not appear very feminine, but a.) I'm starting to design with a person of the opposite sex in mind and b.) I tend to gravitate towards a darker palette for the boudoir and shy away from the light, bright and airy. To me, the darker tones scream quiet, cozy and intimate and I dont' know about you, but those three words sum up a bedroom perfectly.

a nickel for your thoughts.
Seeing as though we are knee deep in wedding planning, which is a bit costly, most of the updates and redesign work that The Fiancé and I want to do are on hold until we return from our honeymoon. Having said that, there are a few little improvements here and there that don't cost much, if anything at all, and changing out the outlet switch plates is one of them. His house, like most, is currently all dolled up with those ugly, plastic, manilla-colored face plates that just scream dowdiness, ugliness and yuck. Sorry, that was harsh. But true.
Sooooo, we're moving on up you guys and replacing the plastic nightmares with these bad boys.
These nickel switch plates from Lowes are going to look diiii-vine against our recently painted Kendall Charcoal living room and I'm convinced that this small touch of metal is just the trick to help make the house feel young and vibrant. I was unsuccessful at finding any examples of rooms with nickel switch plates, so you'll have to wait in anticipation for the reveal (which will hopefully take place this weekend if I can convince a certain someone of why it needs to be done before Christmas).
Have any of you updated your home with metal switch plates? I'd love to hear your feedback!

It's our time to shine.
Everyone is talking about adding a little sparkle to their life and frankly, I love it! Whether it's holiday party attire or home decor, sequins, metallics and jewels are on everybody's radar. And why shouldn't they be? We all deserve to sparkle & shine:)
Happy Monday my loves!

Stella & Dot. Enough said.
I know, I know, I'm late to the game. I have known about Stella & Dot for some time now, but have yet to purchase any of the stunning and stylish beauties until today! I first spotted the Renegade Cluster Bracelet on a good friend of mine a few months ago. I loved it. I wanted it. But I didn't buy it. Well several months later, I still can't get that little gem out of my mind so I decided that I needed it and I needed it now.
She's a beauty, isn't she?
Tons of celebrities have been spotted sporting the spikey, sassy statement piece.
(say that 3 times fast).
And if Sophia Vergara is wearing it, I need to be wearing it too. I'm not a gold gal, but I opted away from silver this time to give my arm a bit of pizazz. I figured the mix of gold with my silver watch and David Yurman cuff will really spice things up! I'm already counting down the days until my purchase arrives. Have any of you bought the Renegade Bracelet? Are you loving it?
Be sure to head to Stella & Dot to get your last minute Christmas goodies and place something in your cart for yourself, too! You won't be disappointed;)

I apologize for the lack of mouth watering recipe photos, but my iPhone charger went MIA and it didn't show its face until after I completed my creation and devoured half of it.

T.G.I.F.
I must be getting old. It's Friday night and 1.) I'm writing a blog post, 2.) I'm watching DVR'd Bravo, and 3.) it's 7:45 p.m. and I'm in my pjs under a blanket. AND 4.) I'm super happy. The FiancĂȘ is out of town for the weekend so I'm house sitting and Jack-sitting, and I'm ridiculously content acting all domestic.
While wrapped up in all things fleece, I started to put together my favorite
lounging accessories and necessities. And Santa, feel free to toss any of these in your sack;)
And it wouldn't be a lazy, lounge-y night without this perfect duo:
Thank you Oreo & God Bless you Trader Joe's "2 Buck Chuck". Don't judge.
Happy Weekend!

Let's Catch Up.
Let me first apologize for my brief intermission over the past few days. I enjoyed a busy and wedding-filled weekend complete with registering, registering & registering, and my final thoughts are: Good Lord, what a process. And we're not even done, ya'll. We had a few hiccups and a bad experience with a sales clerk, so we hit pause on the gift registry fun and plan to resume after the holidays. [Quick shout out to Pottery Barn for being the easiest and most friendly place to register...and a big thumbs down to a huge bedding & bath store that shall remain nameless]
On Saturday night, I broke up all of the marital monotony with a dinner date that included one of my besties. We sipped cocktails, complained about life and had a ole merry time. I mixed in some cleaning, a Target run and some playtime with my soon-to-be 2 year old niece and ended the weekend decorating my Christmas tree and devouring a slice of red velvet cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Hello deliciousness and pure heaven.

Well now that we've caught up, I'm afraid to say that I'm leaving you again. I'm off to Florida tomorrow, work not play, and won't be back until Friday. Until then my lovelies, sit back and laugh at this quote that I'm sure to prove true in April;)
